New Idaho Wing Commander Announced
Rocky Mountain Region Commander Col. Thomas Kettell announced the appointment of Col. Robert Bost, CAP, as the incoming commander of Idaho Wing. Col. Bost joined CAP in 2002 and has served in command and staff positions at the squadron, wing and region levels.
“Col. Bost comes with a vast amount of experience and expertise that I am confident will be of great value to Idaho Wing,” said Col. Kettell. “Please join me in welcoming Col Bob Bost to the Idaho team.”
Col. Bost previously served as the Rocky Mountain Region Commander, Utah Wing Commander, Rocky Mountain Region Chief of Staff, Squadron vice Commander, Wing Director of Logistics, Mission Observer, Wing Encampment Commander, Mission Safety Officer and Mission Logistics Officer. He has master ratings in cadet programs, logistics, command; a senior rating in IG and a technician rating in safety.
Col. Bost has served as an instructor in several CLC, UCC and SLS courses, He graduated Region Staff College, Wing and Region Commander Courses. He has served as CAP Team Chief on several Wing Compliance Inspections. has attended significant number of National Board/Command Council meetings since 2005 serving on the National Executive Committee, the Civil Air Patrol Senior Advisory Group, Command Council and National Board. Col. Bost participated in many emergency services missions and served on the staff of a number of encampments.
Col. Bost was born in Newport, Rhode Island in 1957. He is married to Darline and they have four children, Haley (28), Madison (26), Elizabeth (23) and Robert (21). He is a seasoned Air Force employee with 37 years of continuous service, 24 years active duty AF and currently serving as a Material Chief Supervisor in the C-130 production Squadron, Hill AFB Utah.
